How It Works:
Pick a piece of pottery.
The price you see is the price you pay, plus tax. Really. Yep, it includes everything.
Design and paint! Use pencil to sketch or stamps or stencils. We have design books and display ideas and if you need help, just ask! Remember, there was a first time for us, too!
You don’t need to rush your painting. If you can’t finish today, simply take it with you and bring it back when you’re ready to paint again. There is never a fee to return.
Once you turn a piece in to be fired, it generally takes 5-7 days to be returned to you.
Items are microwave & dishwasher safe.
Have fun! Leave your mess, we’ll clean up.

About the Glaze:
Our glaze is non-toxic & is water-soluble.
This glaze applies in layers, allowing you to control the color effects:

  • 1 coat of paint = light washed/brushed look
  • 2 coats of paint = a brighter color but brush strokes or sponge marks will still show
  • 3 coats of paint = should be solid in coverage but we recommend a 4th coat if any variation in color will bother you.
Allow each layer of paint to dry. Try the hairdryer!
You never want more than 5 coats of glaze or “globs” of paint on a piece. Too much paint may run or bleed during firing.
Anything you don’t paint stays a creamy white.
Feel free to layer your colors. However, light colors do not cover dark colors.
If you make a mistake it is easier to correct when the glaze is dry. We know! Strange but true!

Please let us know if you have any questions! We’re here to help!
